The Art of Community Engagement

Traditionally, a Master of Fine Arts program is studio-centric: students work in a single medium, putting together a unified body of work and attempting to become better artists. But today's M.F.A. programs have taken to challenging the conventional mold. One of the more popular alternatives is community art, in which students are encouraged to create work with larger public outreach.
