Yesterday, our very own Vice President of Social Innovation, Michael Smith, made his grand debut on the catwalk at the Geek2Chic event hosted by Microsoft and Bloomingdales.
A collection of prominent techie "geeks" based in the Washington, D.C. area turned off their smartphones, took a break from Twitter, and strutted down the runway for a good cause.
This unique fashion show took these geeks from behind their laptops, dressed them in designer clothes, and placed them in the limelight. How did they get these geeks to turn chic? In the name of charity, of course. The event was a benefit for DC-based nonprofit, The Heart of America Foundation. This national organization combines volunteerism and literacy and works to provide children in need with the tools to be successful.
We couldn’t be more excited that Michael is using his new found modeling talent for good (check out the video of his strut down the catwalk below)! Be sure to check out our Facebook page for more photos from the event.
