Beginning a new year tends to inspire a period of reflection and assessment of the previous one, while also sparking hope for the future and a desire to make the next year better.

In this vein, this past week some of our Millennials on staff have shared their highlights of 2010 and hopes for 2011, and we've showcased our most popular blog posts of the past year.

As we now reach New Year's Eve, our staff would like to share some of our personal resolutions to improve our health, knowledge, relationships, and of course, giving in 2011.

Most of us plan to focus on being healthy in the new year by eating better, getting more exercise, and making more time for sleep. Relaxation was also at the top of our lists, especially finding peaceful and local places in nature to retreat and refresh.

Next, many of us commit to stay better connected to family and friends in the year to come. While we love keeping in touch online, there was an emphasis on picking up the phone to call, not text, or to schedule an in-person meet-up rather than a video chat. You can still expect us to also check-in, update our Facebook status or send a tweet to let our online friends know what we're up to!

Several of us aspire to learn a new skill or gain knowledge in a particular area over the next year. This means that at the end of 2011 you can expect to find among the Case Foundation staff, a chef, a guitarist, and a trivia master who could give Jeopardy contestants a run for their money.

Since giving back is always top of mind for us, many of our resolutions highlighted how we plan to improve our philanthropic impact. Goals ranged from getting more involved in our respective communities by volunteering, to donating to a worthy cause each week.

And, of course, there were a few outliers on people's lists. My favorite was one staff member's dedication to turn his two year-old nephew into a world class soccer player!

As you can see, we have our work cut out for us in 2011! We hope you'll also share your resolutions with us in the comments below. Best wishes for a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!
