18 Leaders in the Open Source Community to Follow on Twitter

Open source is an essential tool for the tech community, providing open and accessible platforms for accomplishing everything from building websites to artificial intelligence. Yet the drivers behind open source are often individuals, and their commitments of time, energy and inspiration are truly an act of personal philanthropy; many players in the movement do it on their own time.

We talked about how open source can accelerate social good last month in SSIR, and increasingly, open source is critical for nonprofits and individuals who may not have the funds to build out software from scratch or license expensive and cumbersome enterprise software.

At the Case Foundation, we’re committed to contributing to the open source community and recognizing others who are doing so too. These 18 people have made a personal commitment to sharing their digital work with the online community. Learn more about them and how you can follow their work on Twitter below.

30 SXSW Speakers to Follow on Twitter

As SXSW Interactive kicks off this morning, the excitement and energy is palpable. Even the President of the United States doesn’t want to miss SXSW this year, and with good reason: the innovators and visionaries here are some of the best in the world.

Earlier this month, we shared 12 sessions you can’t miss at SXSW Interactive 2016, and if you’re lucky enough to attend in person, we hope to see you there. But so much of what happens at the festival is shared and enriched by the conversations that happen online, namely via Twitter. Even if you can’t be at SXSW in person, you can still keep up with what is happening by following the related hashtags and Twitter handles. To make it easy for you, we’ve created this Twitter list of 30 SXSW speakers and panelists to keep an eye on, all of who will be participating in sessions with the Case Foundation staff.

Hashtags to follow: #CaseSXSW, #Ent4All, #News4Good, #WhatsGoodMixer, #SXSWeco, #SXSW, #SXgood

And of course, be sure to follow us @CaseFoundation for updates on what we are hearing and seeing, and @SXSW for official festival tweets.

50 Entrepreneurial Influencers You Should Be Following On Twitter

At the Case Foundation, we celebrate the power of entrepreneurship—as a means to help changemakers tackle global challenges, transform communities, create jobs, spur economic growth and close the opportunity gap—every day of the year.

This week however is special, as we join with millions of others in the world’s largest celebration of entrepreneurs, innovators and job creators during Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW). Now in its ninth year, GEW “inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators.” It has become a “platform for connection and collaboration—engaging all players along the entrepreneurship spectrum in strengthening ecosystems around the world.”

To forge a stronger, more dynamic and increasingly diverse entrepreneurial ecosystem, we have curated a list of 50 influencers in the entrepreneurial space—with a focus on social entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs of color, impact investors and ecosystem builders—who we encourage you to follow and engage with on Twitter. We recognize that there are thousands of others who are actively engaging in this conversation on Twitter… so if you want to shine a spotlight on others supporting this ecosystem, please let us know on Twitter using @CaseFoundation and the hashtag #Ent4All.

And don’t forget to keep in touch with the Case Foundation and our team!
