You may not know, but 90 percent of malaria victims are under the age of five, and every 45 seconds a child dies of malaria. The United Nations Special Envoy for Malaria is honored to have UNICEF as a partner in the fight to #endmalaria.
Since UNICEF provides humanitarian aid to children, it is a leading partner in the malaria effort. UNICEF is helping to deliver almost a quarter of all mosquito nets being delivered to Africa this year. To coincide with the 60th anniversary of the “trick or treat for UNICEF” campaign, the social media envoys applaud the efforts of UNICEF, and encourage trick or treaters to be a part of the effort. Thank you, UNICEF and children of the world - you have raised $160 million door-to-door since the program began 60 years ago.
