    The Maryland School of Public Policy strives to elevate and enlighten the national and international dialogue over major issues of the day. MSPP has hosted televised political debates, including a Democratic Presidential forum in 1992 and the only Maryland Gubernatorial debate in 1998. Since 1996, MSPP has served as host to the Norman and Florence Brody Family Foundation Public Policy Forum, with General Colin L. Powell as its inaugural speaker. The Public Policy Forum has since addressed such topics as Vouchers for Parochial School Education, the Future of Social Security, Racial Preferences in Affirmative Action, Campaign Finance Reform, and International Terrorism.
