About This Section
While their issues vary, the partners profiled here demonstrate the many ways they embody our core strategies of collaboration, leadership, and entrepreneurship.

America's Promise
America's Promise is an alliance whose partners work together to ensure that all young people have the resources they need to realize their full potential. The organization and its partners focus on five "promises" that all children need and deserve -- caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, a good education, and opportunities to help others. Inspired by the leadership of founder General Colin Powell and the mission to make our youth a national priority, the Case Foundation made one of its first major grants to America's Promise.

With a clear strategy in place, America's Promise is better positioned to ensure that children and youth have the resources they need to succeed.

Throughout its relationship with America's Promise and its business, nonprofit, and government partners, the Case Foundation has supported the organization with financial resources and the personal involvement of its leadership and staff. The collaboration inspired the foundation's other work with children, youth, and families and provided the catalyst for PowerUP, a partnership that created a network of nearly 1,000 community technology centers for underserved youth across the country.

The Case Foundation has played an important leadership role in reenergizing and positioning America's Promise for continued success. It helped the organization identify its strategic priorities for 2005 and helped lead the search for the organization's new CEO, Marguerite Sallee. We continue to work closely with America's Promise to assess long-term priorities and plans to achieve effective and lasting social change to improve the lives of all American children and youth. With a clear strategy in place, America's Promise is better positioned to ensure that children and youth have the resources they need to succeed.
