As a DC-based foundation, our founders and staff call this region home. Like all of America and our neighbors, our staff has been grappling with Wednesday’s events that took place in our backyard.

The peaceful transfer of power is a central tenet of our democracy and we are heartbroken and appalled by the violent disruption of our nation's democratic process. But we are heartened by the fact that democracy is stronger than the actions of a small group of extremists. With yesterday’s congressional certification of the president-elect, we look forward to a peaceful transition of power and a refocusing on the solutions we need to build back better.

As always, Breaking Good will strive to bring you breaking news in social good that matters in the upcoming year and beyond.
